Parallel Lines by W Scott Beaven, editorial advice given by Clare Diston (Human Voices Editorial Services).
Parallel Lines is an accomplished novel about Kiri, a beautiful British-Japanese woman living and working in London. It is the third and final book in Beaven’s trilogy about Kiri’s life. Now in her forties, Kiri is world-weary yet still quietly hopeful that she will be able to find love with a man who will treat her well. But poisonous elements from her past threaten to return and throw everything off-balance.
Beaven’s writing is entertaining and the writer’s passion for this character really shows. The mundanities of everyday life are woven well with more surreal subplots and bursts of fantastic action. If you’re a fan of realism and first-person narratives, Parallel Lines could be your new favourite book!
